For Korea University to achieve its goal of becoming one of the world’s best research-oriented universities in brain engineering, the Department of Brain & Cognitive Engineering is exerting efforts to produce brain engineering experts with creative thinking, adaptability to new technology, and practical application skills.
The department offers world-class educational infrastructure through the systematic fostering of creative talent, the invitation of renowned scholars, international research with overseas partners, and cutting-edge research equipment such as fMRI, EEG, and fNIRS.
Education and Research Details
The department’s interdisciplinary curriculum covers various disciplines to produce experts capable of implementing AI systems that interact with the real world based on their solid understanding of advanced information processing in the brain.
The department also conducts future-oriented research in various areas such as cognitive robots, senior-friendly industries, rehabilitation, diagnosis and prediction of brain diseases, neuromarketing, gaming/entertainment, and mind-reading technology.
